The GSASC/SCASCA 2008 Joint Conference and Tradeshow was a huge success!

The Conference was held at Savannah Marriott Riverfront in Savannah, Georgia. We had the best turnout so far for our August meeting with over 100 attendees from both Georgia and South Carolina.

A special thank you goes out to Gayle Evans and her conference planning committee, Janie Ellison, Mike Pankey, Jackie Rhinehart, A.J. Jain, MD, and Jan Bowers for their hard work in planning the conference. This year’s August conference was a success because of you all. Thank you for creating a spectacular educational schedule and putting together our first offsite event that was one to remember!

The conference began on Friday morning with our Keynote Speaker, Monica Wofford speaking on changing attitudes and improving customer services. We continued the day with sessions regarding to sterilization, infection control, CON Bill, legislative updates, and successfully staffing your ASC.

The day ended with our first ever Networking Reception & Low Country Boil held at Old Fort Jackson in Savannah. Attendees were treated to dinner and firing of the live cannon. Saturday’s sessions included topics on infection prevention, patient safety goals and fast tracking your patient’s recovery.

We hope to see you at the February Meeting in Atlanta in 2009!
