The Office of Regulatory Services (ORS) is responsible for inspecting,
monitoring, licensing, registering, and certifying a variety of child
care and health care programs. ORS works to ensure that facilities
and programs operate at acceptable levels, as mandated by state statutes
and by rules and regulations adopted by the Board of Human Resources.
ORS also recommends certification of various health care facilities
to receive Medicaid and Medicare funds, through contracts with the
Health Care Financing Administration of the U.S. Department of Health
and Human Services.
The
Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association is
a nonprofit association representing
the interests of ambulatory surgery centers
(ASCs) throughout the nation. FASA represents
all aspects of the industry including
the physicians, nurses, administrative
staff, and owners.
AAASC
originated, as a grass roots effort to promote
physician owned ambulatory care facilities, which
are both cost effective and give excellent, patient
focused care. Their focus is on education and
providing resources and support to Administrators
and Physicians who run and work in ASC’s.
